NIOS is equivalent to other boards like ISCE/CBSE/UP BOARD. The NIOS have same rights and privileges as any other board. Any institution which objects taking admission through NIOS is unadmissible. All the government and private universities & colleges accept NIOS boards. Onky some private colleges might not accept.You can enroll yourself for the engineering colleges which take direct admission on the basis of their own tests like:

1. Inderprastha Engineering College: it is in Vaishali Ghaziabad and offers average packages of upto 3-4 lakhs. Their entrance test is also very easy.

2. ABESEC

3.KIET

you can even enroll yourself for the exams like UPSEE and you can get the above colleges.

Other than this you can get Bhartiya vidhyapeeth  Pune or IPU they also conduct their own exams.

Other options are JEE and BITSAT.

yes of course nios result is valid all over india.

Though very few private colleges deny to take nios pass-outs like srm university,amity university etc.

You know the top institutes of india like iits or aiims or very prestigious universities also take admission of nios pass outs.
