Hey,

BA (Honors) in Psychology is offered at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (SCAC). However, it is not affiliated to Symbiosis International University (SIU), instead it comes under Savitribai Phule Pune University. The new admissions will be based on the following:

  • All admissions will be based on Merit and as per the Reservation policy of Govt. of Maharashtra.
  • Admission process will start only after the XIIth std. results of H.S.C. Maharashtra Board examinations are declared (i.e. by June 1st week)
  • You have to register by filling Pre-Merit application form online. The form will be available on the official website of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce.
  • While filling the Pre-Merit form you have to put the the total marks of all the subjects and required information. Then pay the required fees.
  • If your name appears in the Merit List, you need to personally go to the college in Pune and complete the admission processes.
  • The eligibility criteria for the college will be declared by the Government of Maharashtra.

1. Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, Pune

It offers a four years B.A (Liberal Arts) Honors, in the second year (ie. third semester) it lets you choose your major and minor. In such a course you have the freedom to experiment with majors and minors. Psychology is one of the offered majors. You will extensively study Psychology for three years along with a huge number of cores and electives.

For SSLA you need to write the SET General paper.

It is of 150 marks and includes 40 questions each of Quantitative Reasoning, General English and General Awareness, and it has 30 questions of Analytical and Logical Reasoning.

For admissions you need to have a minimum of 50% SET score.

You can apply to the program only if you have passed from CBSE or any other recognised board.

You must have an aggregate of 45 percent marks in the qualifying examination (for BA Honors only)

The cut-off for Mumbai University and Delhi University affiliated colleges are only declared once the Maharashtra Board Results come out.

Colleges usually lower their cut-offs after the initial rush ends, thus there are many chances that you will get into a college for B.A (Hons.) program. As most colleges let out 4-5 merit lists there are many chances of getting in into good colleges with low marks.

All the Best!

I hope this helps!
