With  a rank of 8440 through ews category you cannot get admission in NIT colleges with CSE branches such as NIT Hamirpur, NIT Srinagar, NIT Surat and others. To get admission in NIT Calicut, NIT Delhi, NIT Surathkal and other top colleges your rank for CSE should be within 2-3k.

I am sorry to state that with this rank you will not be getting computer science and engineering in any of the NITs this year through JOSAA counselling.

This is the first time that EWS category has been introduced and no one can be 100 percent sure but still I am concerned that you might not get any decent branch in any of the top ten NITs. But I hope for your success and all the best!
