can I get CSE or IT or ECE with 170.5 cutoff marks in TNEA in a decent college

Congratulations for ur hsc results!! I hope you and your family are safe in this covid-19 situation. Coming to your question, the answer is obsolutely YES.
You can easily get CSE,IT, or ECE branch in very good colleges. Try to choose the branch wisely. In my opinion, cse is the best among these. You can easily get cse course in second level good colleges. Choosing branch is based upon ur interests. But give equal importance in selecting college too.

Hi!
Considering your cut-off, you cannot get into first level colleges like psg, anna university,kct,thiyagaraja,ssn etc.. But you can get into second level good colleges like Sri krishna, Bannari Amman and so on.
You wish to take cse course, right? Sri krishna college cse seats will be filled by first round counselling. You will come under second round counselling. So you can try for the following collegs:
1. Bannari Amman,cbe.
2.Ramakrishna college,cbe.
3. Kongu engineering college, erode.
4. SNS college of technology,cbe.
5. Sona clg of tech, salem.
And you can try for more colleges if you think some other colleges are better than this.
