Dear Akhil,
As we all know that nowadays competitions are rising day by day and every institute wants to take rich cream of talent so that they can increase their performance and business. Nobody can get admission very easily in any college, either you have to pay huge amount of money as a donation or you have to clear the entrance examination with good score.
Government colleges like different IITs, NITs, IIITs and some other GFTIs do not take direct admission, for these colleges you have to clear JEE-Mains and JEE-Advanced examination with good score.
Some private colleges also conduct their own entrance tests like VIT Vellore, SRM University, BITS, etc. but they also reserve some seats for direct admission. You can get direct admission in most of the private colleges but you have to spend a lot of money for direct admission.

And many more...
I hope that I cleared your doubt. Now you can choose what is right for you.
Good Luck!!
