can i get good marks in KCET by studying only 2nd puc portions??
Hello Aspirant,
Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). This entrance exam is organised to provide eligible candidates admission to different undergraduate courses in Karnataka. The exam is conducted for 3 subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. The marks allotted for each subject is 60, which makes it a total of 180 marks for the exam.
The syllabus of the exam covers both the 11th and 12th STD portions. Around 15-20 marks are from the 11th STD portions and the rest from the 12th STD. 1 mark is allotted for each correct answer and there is no negative marking.
Coming to your question, if you concentrate only on the 12th STD portions and assuming that you get all the answers right, even then you'll land up with a score of 120-135 out of 180, which is considered a decent score but not an extraordinary score.
If you are looking forward to pursuing some of the most sought after courses then this score may not help you achieve that.
Therefore, in my point of view, you should prepare for the exam by considering both the 11th and 12th STD portions.
Hope this was helpful.
Should there be any other query, please feel free to ask.
Good Luck!
