In 2014, the CML ( Common Merit List ) closing rank was around 1100 for Homestate and about 350 Rank for Otherstate. For OBC, the Closing rank was around 3800 for Homestate & 1150 around for OtherState people. For SC, closing rank was 29,000 around for Homestate and 3335,00 for Otherstate.
In 2015, in case of Open Category , the closing rank was about 2,800 for Homestate and around 600(+) for Otherstate.
In 2016, in case of Open Category , the closing rank was around 2,200 for Homestate and 400 around for Other State. For OBC , around 1500 for Homestate OBC ppl and 150180 for Otherstate OBC ppl.

NIT Trichy is one of the top NITs so you will have to secure a good rank in Jee Mains. Considering general category, 250+ score is enough to admit in NIT Trichy. For OBC students, There is slightly less score to need like 230+ and 180–190+ score need for SC, ST students. It may be vary depending on question paper and cutoff rank. And of course, you will get some advantage for being home state quota.

At this rank, you will get CS at NIT Allahabad, jaipur e.t.c.
At NIT Tiruchirapalli, best branch you can get is mechanical engineering.
However if you are from tamilanadu, you can get CS at NIT Tiruchirapalli due to home state quota.
