Yes you can apply as a lateral entry candidate into B.Tech course in Automobile Engineering even after completing diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The curriculum of Automobile Engineering resembles the Mechanical Engineering curriculum to a greater extent. But there are certain marks criteria like
- You need to score minimum 50% marks in aggregate in your 10+2
- You need to score minimum 50% score in your diploma degree
- You must successfully complete the Diploma degree
