Hello,

Yes, it is possible to pursue an MD in Gynecology after completing a DGO (Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics) under the in-service quota. In Maharashtra, candidates applying through this quota typically need to secure a rank that falls within a competitive range. The exact rank required can vary from year to year based on factors like the number of seats available, the overall performance of applicants, and reservation policies.

For a good chance at securing a seat, it is generally advised to aim for a high rank in the NEET PG exam, usually within the top few hundred ranks, depending on the year's cut-off trends. However, each year’s cutoff can fluctuate, so checking the latest details and staying updated on the current year’s ranking trends for in-service candidates is crucial.

THANK YOU!! ALL THE BEST!!

From the State quota, 20% of Seats in postgraduate degree & diploma courses from State Government / Corporation Medical Colleges will be reserved for In- service candidates in the State Government services, who have served for at least 3 years in remote and/or difficult areas as per Annexure “U”.

in-service medical officers can get admission to MD gynecology through the in-service quota. You have to fulfill  the eligibility criteria and admission process for MD gynecology and cutoff for thus quota is generally lower than the general category candidates.

Moreover, you need to Obtain a study leave and No Objection Certificate from your employer.

Hello aspirant,

The eligibility criteria and rank requirements for MD Gynecologist in the in-service quota can vary depending on the specific state and medical institution. However, generally, you would need to have completed your DGO (Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology) and have served in the government medical service for a specified period.

In Maharashtra, the exact rank requirement for MD Gynecologist in the in-service quota can fluctuate depending on the number of applicants and available seats. It's advisable to check the official notifications and guidelines released by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (MAH CET) for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Additionally, some institutions may have specific eligibility criteria or preferences for in-service candidates, such as a minimum number of years of service or experience in a particular field within gynecology.

To increase your chances of securing a seat in the in-service quota, it's recommended to:

  • Score a high rank in the entrance examination: The higher your rank, the better your chances of getting your preferred choice.
  • Meet the minimum service requirement: Ensure you have completed the required number of years of service in the government medical service.
  • Fulfill any additional criteria: Check for any specific requirements or preferences set by the institution.
  • Stay updated on the latest information: Keep track of the official notifications and guidelines released by MAH CET.

I hope this information helps you.
