If the cutoff remains the same as the last year you will not able to get admission in Jadavpur University. Last year closing rank for mechanical was 771 but every year cutoff increase so there is a fair chance that you will get admission so don't lose hope and if you don't get mechanical then you can go for Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering it is also good branch.
