Eligibility for nit :-NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs Admission: Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or equivalent exam or they must be in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 examination. For SC/ ST, the eligibility is to obtain a minimum of 65% marks in class 12 or equivalent.

According to the percentage criteria you are not eligible to take admission in nits .( From any of the category ) because minimum 65% criteria is there for sc / St and 75% for general / OBC.

But there may be a chance that you will get admission from percentile base  means you need to be in top 20 percentile of your boards than you can take admission.

For checking the top 20 percentile score ( cut offs ) you can see the josaa site ; there is a list of cut offs marks for different boards ( like CBSE ; Gujarat ; Bihar etc.) For all the categories .

But if your board is CBSE than you are not eligible from percentile criteria also .
