With 428 marks and a rank of 320,468 in NEET 2024, and belonging to the ST category, you have a chance of securing an MBBS seat in the **3rd round of counseling**, though it depends on a few factors:

1. **All India Quota (AIQ) 3rd Round**: By the 3rd round, most of the seats in top government medical colleges are already filled. However, some seats may remain vacant due to withdrawals or seat upgrades from previous rounds. Given that you belong to the ST category, the cut-offs for reserved categories are generally lower, which improves your chances, but competition is still stiff.

2. **Seat Availability**: In newer government medical colleges or private colleges offering seats under the government quota, your rank could be more favorable. In the 3rd round, there may be more availability in such institutions.

3. **State Quota**: In addition to AIQ, you should focus on your state quota counseling. States often have lower cut-offs for ST candidates, and you may have better chances of getting a seat under your state’s reserved category.

To improve your chances, make sure to stay updated on counseling notifications, participate actively in both AIQ and state counseling rounds, and explore options in private or semi-government medical colleges.

hope this helps you!!

Hello,

You scored 428 and are ranked 320468 in the ST category for NEET. Many factors are dependent upon your prospects of getting an MBBS seat in the third round of counseling including availability of seats, category-wise reservations, and the cutoff trends of your state or even under the All India Quota (AIQ). Usually, the candidates belonging to the reserved categories, including ST, have a higher chance of getting a seat in the light of lower cutoffs as compared with the general category.

While government medical colleges are much more competitive, you may still try with private medical colleges or even semi-government institutions. Do not lose track of the government counseling rounds because of candidates withdrawing; seats can get vacant in the third round. You must go through counseling and give all options proper look-through-from private medical colleges to minority-run ones.
