Yes, you can actually attempt JEE mains once again, after you qualify with a good rank and marks you can get into the desired NIT through JoSSA counseling. As a candidate can attempt JEE mains maximum of 6 times in three consecutive years. Thus you can attempt once again and join as a fresher in the desired NIT through JoSSA counseling after qualifying for JEE mains 2021. Also, application forms for the JEE mains 2021 examination have been released and the last date to submit the firm is 15 January 2021.
But I guess IIT can give you more exposure and good career opportunities than NIT. But if you are genuinely facing a serious problem then you can prefer to attempt JEE mains once again and go for the desired NIT.
Hope this answer helps you.
All the best!!!!
Yes you can do that but only for NITs by reappearing for JEE Main 2021, perhaps if you are absolutely not satisfied with the branch you are studying or the culture which is so contrary to the campus culture at IITs we know. But, I believe you wont get the correct atmosphere or motivation to prepare for JEE Mains all over again and I would perhaps advise you, since its your first year work hard and try for a Department Change.
Even if you are not able to get a DepC, as we normally name it, its just fine. Try developing new skiils and mastering them over the course of your degree, like Software, Finance, Analytics and Consulting, discuss and connect with Alumini and Seniors of your branch and make sure you keep up with College academics. Trust me, the exposure and opportunities an IIT can give you, no other Technical Institute in India can provide a similar environment and campus culture.
