Hello candidate,
Taking a gap year after completing your class 12th examination for preparation for other examination could be a good decision, but taking a gap in between academic years could not be as fruitful.
But, in case you are facing a problem related to health issues, any other serious problem for which you could not be able to continue with your academic schooling, then you can talk with your school administration regarding it and if they allowed you, then you are surely able to join class 12th as a regular student.
