Can I join ONGC after getting 66% in BSC Chemistry?

Unfortunately , ONGC does not recruit Graduates . If you want to join , you have to complete M.Sc , then have to crack GATE with a GOOD rank . After that , you have to apply in ONGC individually and then they will call you for interview. You have to pass that too with a good score. Previously, ONGC recruited Technical Assistant posts for chemistry with minimum qualification as BSc. But currently the minimum qualification for that posts has also been revised to MSc, though securing a first class is not mandatory.

Then they will select you on the basis of -

1) your gate score

2) your performance in interview

3) your academic designation.(Ph.D>M.Sc)

After clearing all the steps successfully , you now have to give Medical test . And then if you clear it successfully , you get to join ONGC.

With MSc (Chemistry), you can apply for the following post-

1. ONGC-

a) Chemist via GATE

b) AEE (Reservoir) via GATE

c) Technical Assistant (Chemistry) without GATE

d) Junior Technical Assistant (Chemistry) without GATE ( require BSc (Chemistry) only)

2. IOCL-

a) Assistant Officer (Quality Control) via GATE

b) Junior Quality Control Analyst without GATE (require BSc (Chemistry) only)

c) Junior Engineering Assistant (Production) without GATE (require BSc (Chemistry) only)

NOTE-

1. Where BSc (Chemistry) is mentioned the MSc (Chemistry) is considered as overqualified.
2. Posts without GATE are recruited at regional level. So, candidate must be domicile of that State.
3. Preference will be given to candidates undergone Apprentice training at ONGC and IOCL establishments for recruitment without GATE.
4. PhD qualification is not considered during recruitment but get some increment after joining.
