Hello Aspirant,
Yes you have to keep your bag outside the examination center of NEET, means there will be a different space where you can keep your bag and don't worry it would be secured and in the examination center you will be only allowed to carry the following items :-
*** NEET admit card
*** Passport size photograph
*** Postcard size photograph
*** Valid ID proof - PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, Ration card
*** Mask on face
*** Gloves on hand
*** Personal transparent water bottle
*** Personal small hand sanitizer (50 ml)

My advice is , You shall only carry NEET admit card, passport size photo and an original Identity proof. No watches, stationary items, wallets, handbags, pens are allowed.
Back pack is not allowed because you don't have safety lockers for your baggage. And no one is responsible for the loss or theft of your items. You just follow the dress code and carry any one Identity proof.
