No, you can not attempt IIT-JAM after your 12th class.
Since IIT-JAM exam is conducted by the government for admission to Master's degree, So to attempt IIT-JAM, it is compulsory to have a Bachelor's degree.
You can try it after the completion of your graduation.

As per the eligibility criterion a Bachelors degree is must to appear for IIT-JAM. Also candidate belongs to Genera /OBC category should score at least 55% in graduation and for SC/ST/PwD it is 50%.

(Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, Post-UG Degrees Programmes at the IITs and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc as you can see all of this are master degrees so this is the reason you cannot give the exam https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam
