Yes! You can definitely prepare for CLAT without coaching . Many successful have done so in the past.
For CLAT, the most inexpensive study material is a daily English newspaper which will help you in reading comprehension, logical reasoning and current affairs. The Indian Express or the Hindu will be an ideal fit.
You must solve past year question papers (especially after 2020). These PYPs are available for free on the internet. You can follow the link below to get them:

For Maths, you can solve PYPs and use standard maths textbooks for competitive exams like the ones from RS Agarwala and Arun Sharma. You can also subscribe to mock series of any coaching institute for practice.These mock series are quite inexpensive as compared to offline classroom programmes.
