You can start your preparation for SSC CGL. This exam can be taken by everyone from any stream.
I would suggest to start from the first year a little. And from the last year of college prepare in detail in depth.

No need to join coaching. You can prepare from youtube, there are tons of content available of quantitative aptitude. And it will be beneficial if you make your habbit of reading newspaper which improve your reading skills.
And have an eye on current affairs as well.

See if you want to do teaching in future or have teaching as an option then B.el.ed is great.
But if you are serious about SSC then BA (h) is preferable. Because B.el.ed is of 4 years and BA is of 3 years. That's why BA will save your one year.

i wanted to keep b.el.ed as a second option but what if I prepare for cgl along with BTech. Please tell which course should I select between them?

I think if you do B.tech, you will get no time to study for SSC. If you do BA in english, political science or economics, then you'll get enough time to prepare for SSC plus there are some subjects in BA which will help you in preparing SSC.
