See, i would suggest you to try to complete the verification process later in the night. You will get the verification code at the time at ease. Since, i am still in doubt as to when after the payment how can a candidate get the email verified since the thing only visible after logging to your application form, is download the applicaion form and your application form is under scruting.

Thus, to make things worse afterwards, i would suggest you to try out filling and verifying the email id in the midnight and it should work at that time. since the load on the servers in the night are slightly less. So, you will be able to get the code with ease.
