A proposal to allow students to pursue two degree programmes at the same time has been accepted by the UGC. One of the degrees must be traditional, while the other must be either open and remote learning or online. A student can earn two degrees from two distinct colleges and in two different streams. S/he has the option of attending the same institution. It is a move taken by University Grants Commission (UGC) in order to improve the career prospects of the students. Now the students can pursue two degrees at the same time but the only condition is tha one degree must be regular and the other must be either in open and distance learning or online. So you can persue two masters degree in both economics and political science but the only condition is this, you have to do one of your degree as regular and the other one as distance learning or online.
