Yes if you wish to refer you can go rely on NCERT books, however the fact is NCERT books are meant for board preparations rather than JEE Mains preparation. Because in the NCERT books it is more comprised of Activities and the descriptions are unable to clear your concepts. For board preparations, they are to the point but for JEE Mains they are indeed insufficient.
