Hey friend....arihant is actually a very vast book to learn for.......whether or not u do ncert is ur choice.....but if u do arihant starting from page 1.....and u know the relevant concepts and theories....then there is no need of any other book....but i suggest u to read ncert books to form a base....and on the basis of that base level....u try to solve questions in arihant.........or try to do any one of the books completely.........one book line to line and dot to dot is complete  ....then u ll surely score!.....and friend....by telling completing the whole book...i mean to say be thorough with the concepts.......all the best !!

That is the thing i want tk say.....it covers everything.....the exemar questions are based on ncert theory and concepts........so if u have a base of ncert ......then it would be good for u......but if u do arihant alone......then also its fine....u could do it

See syllabus for JEE Mains is same as NCERT syallbus even in next round of JEW Advanced only few more topics are added in all the three subjects.

Unlike others said to rely only on NCERT, I will actually disagree a little. Students who are able to score above 200+ marks by only studying NCERT books are the one who have a very very solid hold on their baiscs. Their basics are very strong and plus have the capability to tackle the higher level questions in exam by breaking it in simple parts with the help of their strong basics knowledge.

Excluding those exceptions I would strongly recommend for other students to study the theory part from NCERT books but attempt questions from a different books like Arihant. Also go through last year papers and know your status where you stand and how is the quality of questions asked.

When I got selected in IIT-JEE there used to be only one IIT-JEE exam and AIEEE exam separately but still even after exam format has changed, it hasn't lost its perk of tricking you in the questions. This thing you can't learn from NCERT books and it's mandatory to learn this trick for scoring above 200 marks.

Work hard, make your basics super strong and attempt different questions outside the scope of NCERT books.

All the best for your preparations!!

How to develop my basics strong?

To make your basics strong you need to start from the scratch, I mean don't avoid the topics like vectors, logarithm, mole concept etc. These are tge things which might not have a specific chapters in NCERT but you need to learn them from starting because it helps you all the way in almost all topics.

Along with this make proper notes of all the laws with formulas and variations accordingly in physics, all the short theory notes of inorganic and organic plus formulas and laws of physical chemistry. For maths you need to practice a lot different types of questions ten only your basics will be strong. Start with easy questions then move up your difficulty level.

You can make notes for tricks which you found oyt? by yourself or from any book. These notes are very handy and you can use them while solving questions in the early stage.

Later you will get used to it and by continuous usage you will be able to memorize them also learn their proper implementation.

Dear Siva

Basically,  it's not recommended to do that because  some questions will come directly in the exam.  You can follow what shefali said.  My point is it's very difficult to get those marks(what you are expecting) without that. And it would be easy to get those with this book.  So better go through this book and refer some best ones too.

All the best.

JEE Main syllabus is based on NCERT only.

It is the most recommended book for your preparation. Exercises which are given at the end of the topics are very important to solve. You can get direct questions from NCERT.

If your base is strong and you have good hold on your subjects you can score good marks in JEE Main exam.

Along with NCERT refering previous year papers and solving complete mock test series is highly recommended.

Good Luck!!
