Yes, you certainly can. If you want to do it in India, you'll need to pass the GATE exam with a decent mark.
You'd want to meet their requirements in other nations. However, it is usually depending on the institute and the guide. Certain calculus-based physics courses, mathematics courses, and so on would all be required. You'd also have to satisfy the required minimum grade point average (CGPA).
