Utpal,
The official mode of admission is as follows
- One needs to take JEE (Main) exam and separately apply for AIT Pune counselling .
- Admissions are on the basis of rank in JEE (Main) .
- Note: Admission to Army Institute of Technology is for the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army only.
So as you can see that oly children of army personnel and, ex army personnel and war widows .
So I don't think one can get admission if he doesn't belong to that category.
Hello Utpal,
Availability of Seats
AIT offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2019 (120 seats in Computer Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering,). Only wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AIT. Children from other categories, that is those who are not wards of Army personnel, can be considered for admission only after considering wards of Army personnel. Usually more than 3000 applications are received every year from Army wards.
