Hello,

Yes, you can get admission in IIT after completing 3 year Diploma in Engineering from an institute recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or a State Board of Technical Education. To get admission in to Indian Institute of Technology you need to appear for JEE Advanced. To appear for JEE Advanced you need to appear for JEE Main and qualify in it. The eligibility criteria to appear for JEE Main is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board. Candidates who have passed 3 year Diploma in Engineering are also eligible to appear. Earlies, to get admission in to IITs/NITs/IIITs candidates belonging to general category must score minimum 75% aggregate marks and for SC/ST category candidates it was 65% aggregate marks. But for the academic year 2021-22 the minimum percentage requirement is relaxed. It means that candidates must pass in the qualifying examination and also qualify in JEE Main and JEE Advanced to get admission in to IITs/NITs/IIITs. To appear for JEE Advanced 2021 you must have passed in the qualifying examination that is Diploma in 2020 or 2021. It should be noted that you will get admission in to 1st year B.tech if you qualify in JEE Advanced.

Hello,

Yes, you are eligible to apply for IIT JEE MAINS. Candidates must have passed 12th or its equivalent exam from a recognised board in India. Since you're a diploma holder in Polytechnic, you are eligible.

But a candidate must have passed 12th with physics/Chemistry/ Maths and English as their main subjects. Firstly, you have to appear for JEE MAINS and then you are going to score according to the eligibility criteria set by the conducting body (like for this year Candidates must have rank in the top 250000 in order to be eligible to JEE ADVANCED) and after appearing in JEE ADVANCED you will be alloted a seat in IITs and NITs. But for allotment you need very high rank, Cutoffs are very high in all the IITs.
