As of now there is no accurate details regarding it. it is due to many students have appeared JEE Mains january Session and Many  students are waiting for 2nd session and many have applied for improvement.

So considering all the factors, NTA will decide what should be the right way so that both institutes and students won't face any hurdles.  There are many factors as admission into top college with have high raise bars and many students who have scored well but doesn't have good 12th marks or in low line , they won't get opportunity.

So as of now prepare for JEE mains 2nd session which is scheduled in september. Stay updated. Go with the flow.

No, you can't take admission in NIT for BTech engineering on the basis of class 12th Board Marks. If your are interested in taking admission in any NIT than it is compulasary for you to give JEE Main Examination. Then, obtain the marks more than the cutoff marks of that particular NIT, they you will be eligible for admission.
