hi,
see according to the latest criteria to pursue economics honors in Delhi university is candidates must have completed 10+2 course from a recognized education board and must have studies mathematics as a compulsory subject in 12th course.
An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects. The applicants must have studied and passed Mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission to B.A. (Honours) in Economics.
now the mathematics and applied mathematics is not same. the maths syllabus can not quickly solve but you have to give the sufficient time, first try to learn the concept and then practice from the exercises. if you run to solve maths in quick process you may lose the interest for maths and in the examination may not solve enough questions.
