Yes, you can easily opt for B.SC+B.ED after 12th standard for preparing UPSC side by side. I think you choose the right option because it secures your chances in future for a job and if you worked hard then definitely you will crack the UPSC exam.
See, the benefits of opting. B.Sc+ B.Ed is you can apply for teaching jobs both in private and government but for a government job you need to clear an exam specially meant for the selection in Government jobs in teaching department. Though the subjects are not the same if you can manage well then definitely the doors are open for you.
The main thing that depends is are you happy or not?
