Hello aspirant,

You can opt for any field in class 11th or 12th no matter what you studied in your class 10th

  • following streams that you can opt for in class 11th mathematics
  • Biology
  • Biology plus mathematics
  • commerce with maths
  • Arts

The science stream has two sub-branches, divided based on the third subject you study:

  • Medical – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Optional Subject
  • Non-Medical – Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English, Optional Subject

Hello Sneha !!

Hope you are in the best of your health and cheers.

As such, CBSE (or any other Board for that purpose) has no restrictions on the choice of stream in 11th except PCM if you have opted for Basic Mathematics in 10th. You need Standard Mathematics in 10th only if you wish to pursue mathematics at senior secondary level.

So, you can take PCB in 11th if you have chosen Basic Mathematics in class 10.

Hope this helps.

All the best !!
