It highly depends on the body who is verifying your documents. I obtained my grade 12 passing certificate from DigiLocker and the institute verifying my documents passed it. The website (DigiLocker) also states that the documents in DigiLocker can be used for official purposes. However, if the officer verifying your certificates denies it then you'll have to comply.
