Hello Rohini!
Following the various cheating incidences and malpractices that have taken place during the pre-medical entrance tests in previous years, the conducting body, NTA, has set a number of strict guidelines in order to avoid further happening of such malpractices.
According to those guidelines, candidates are supposed to wear light clothes. The clothes should not have any metallic objects or buttons on them. No jewelry or accessories are allowed. Slippers or low-heeled sandals should be worn. Hair should be tied into a simple ponytail.
Therefore, candidates should not be wearing or carrying anything that arouses suspicion.
The attire you mentioned above, that is white pattiyala and light colour T-shirt with no embroidery sounds absolutely fine. Yes, you can definitly wear it . Make sure your footwear consists of either slippers or low-heeled sandals. Tie your hair in a simple pnytail. Don't wear any kind of jewelry or accessories except for spectacles (if you need them).
