Can I,after completing ba hons. In philosophy , pursue ma in Mass communication?? If not, what could be my other options??

Hello Lakshay,

Yes, you can pursue an MA in Mass Communication after completing your graduation in Philosophy. The course is of 2-year duration. The course fee various from INR 50000 to 3 lakhs for two years.

Eligibility for admission in MA Mass Communication :- A student must hold a Bachelors or equivalent degree in any stream.

After the completion of MA in Mass Communication one can find Job profiles like Sound Engineer, Film Director, Public Relation Officer, Sound Mixer, and Sound Recorder, Special Correspondent, TV Correspondent, Producer, Radio Jockey, etc.

After the completion of BA Hons in Philosophy, one can look for a Job-like specialist in HR, interviewer, consultant, student affairs, public services, journalism, research, law, diplomacy, insurances, etc.

BA in Philosophy is an undergraduate researched based course in the field of social sciences, natural sciences and arts. The duration of the programme is 3 years divided into 6 semesters.It deals with Indian Philosophy,Western Philosophy,Social Philosophy,Western Philosophy,religion,ethics,logics,etc.Now there are specializations offered in different streams.

Job profiles include Teacher,Public Service, Social Worker, Journalist,etc.

MA in Mass communication is a Master degree course/post graduate course of 2 years divided into six semesters.It mainly deals with ideas of mass communication such as media promotion,social medica manager,cultural issues, regulations and media techniques,etc.The course has emerged overs the years and majority of the students go for this post graduate degree for better placements. The job profiles include Public relations officer, Advertising Manager,Journalist,Sound Engineer,RJ,Photo journalist,Event Manager, VJ, etc.

The eligibility of MA mass communication is:-

1)Bachelor Degree from any stream of minimum 3 years.

2)Applications from Engineering and Medical streams may not be accepted

3)There are age restrictions being followed in some of the universities.

Admission takes place by Entrance exams, Personal Interview and Admission.

Yes,  holding a B.A. (Hons.) Degree you can pursue a Masters in Mass Communication. Sound knowledge in English and expertise in writing skills can help a lot in future in terms of career and employment.


I would have recommended M. A in the same field, however this seems like your area of interest.
