The candidates who are domiciled in Karnataka and who claimed for state quota must give the Kannada Language Test. The exam is conducted in English as well in Kannada language. You can give the same. The exam is there only to test your knowledge in Kannada language.

The Kannada Language Test is for students who are seeking admission into professional courses under the 85% reservation for Karnataka students. Since candidates are permitted if they have not studied for ten years or more in Karnataka but whose mother tongue is Karnataka, Tulu, or Kodava, such students must pass the Kannada Language Test. For students from specific linguistic border regions, it is essential to clear the Kannada Language Test, for example, Maharashtra's Sholapur or some of the districts in Kerala.
It measures fundamental competency in Kannada and indicates, whether a native or a non-native candidate or somebody from outside of the state, if he or she can read and converse fluently in the language. Candidature to this examination shall be considered only by the candidates who fulfill eligibility requirements of domicile and other academic, including that of having parents residing in Karnataka for more than seven years or hailing from the recognized Kannada speaking area of the state. If the candidate has studied in Karnataka 10 full years in Kannada medium then he is exempted from this test.
The Kannada Language Test is successfully passed by the candidate allows consideration under the state's reserved quota for professional admission.
