In jadavpur university you can change your branch after first year. It depends on some factors like firstly you will have to score more than 8.5 in both the semesters of the first year and then there should be vacant seats in that branch. If you are scoring good but the branch you want have no vacant seats then you can't change. So if you have YGPA of more than 8.5 and there are vacant seats in that branch then definitely you can change the branch.

As far as I am concern if I you are able to score 80% in your first year then you can get another branch for second year.

But for colleges there are some protocols to follow .I believe that you should first contact to your college administration for the same.
