its not the 20th century where things were done easy, competetion is on its peak, and to get a good rank amongst a million students, always go for more than a couple of books and specifically approach for the JEE oriented books like that of the arihant publication etc. all the best
Hey Nithin Agarwal,
For Physics only NCERT is not enough to deal with ,even refer the following books to write a better exam,
1. Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma (includes both volume 1 and 2)
2. Complete Physics for JEE Main 2018 by Irodov
Even for Chemistry deal with even other books not only NCERT. Here are the following chemistry books which are useful for JEE Mains,
1.IIT Chemistry by O.P. Tandon
2.Physical Chemistry by P.Bahdur
Dear Nitin,
For jee mains according to my point of view NCERT for physics will not be enough but for chemistry it is must. If you will deeply check mains chemistry previous year papers with chemistry NCERT you will find that many sentences given in the book are asked as it is in the paper in the form of objectives.
But this is not seen in the case of physics moreover to this physics is an application based subject it cannot be understood by simple mere theory.
Added to it for physics you should study deeply you can have the books like of authors DC Panday , HC Verma , etc for physics.
I hope you got my point if u still have any doubt in this or any other topic please do share.
Thank you
It is not for physics. You need to solve a lot of questions if you want to score good marks in physics section in jee mains exam. For this you need to solve books like hc verma,dc pandey. These will help you in enhancing your problem solving skills.
For chemistry,as far as i know ncert books are the best to prepare for jee mains. But to score high marks you can opt for books like op tondon,rc mukherjee. These will help you in solving various types of questions and analysing concepts.
Good luck.
Personally in my opinion, for chemistry the NCERT books will be enough , they make your concepts crystal clear . But for physics they won't be enough as you will need to practice a lot of questions in various topics .
Thank you .
Dear Nitin,
NCERT helps you to make your concepts clear and to build your fundamentals strong.
With the help of NCERT books you can easily qualify for JEE Main exam but to score good marks you can refer other books as well like you can go for HC Verma for physics and OP Tandon for chemistry.
Make sure you also solve previous year papers and complete mock test series for your practice and to work on your time management.
Good Luck!!
