Currently the stipend in Calcutta Medical College is around 45,000 Rs in final year. In first year, the stipend is less, it increases every year. In other medical colleges of Kolkata the stipend structure is somewhat same. In 2017, the bond amount for MD/MS doctors was raised to Rs 30 lakh and the service period to three years. The amount for doctors with a postgraduate diploma remained unchanged, although the service period was raised to five years.
