can students with spectacle join afmc

According to the official brochure for admission into AFMC (

) under MBBS, a candidate must meet with eligibility criteria which also includes the vision eligibility, stated as follows:
(u) Visual Standards:

Visual standards will be asfollows:-
- (aa) Uncorrected VA 6/60 & 6/60 BCVA 6/6 & 6/6
- (ab) Myopia ≤ -3.50 DSph,
- (ac) Hypermetropia ≤ +3.50 DSph,
- (ad) Astigmatism ≤ +/-2.0 Dcyl
- (ae) Colour perception II

LASIK or Equivalent
- (aa) Lasik and equivalent procedures will be permitted. However earlier procedures like Radial Keratotomy or equivalent will be permanently unfit.
- (ab) Any candidate who has undergone any Keratorefractive procedure will have a certificate from the centre where he has undergone the procedure specifying the date and type of surgery.

(ac) In order to be made Fit, the following criteria will have to be met.
- (aaa) Age > 20 yrs at the time of surgery
- (aab) Minimum 12 months post LASIK
- (aac) Central corneal thickness ≥ 450 µ
- (aad) Axial length by LOL Master ≤ 26 mm
- (aae) Residual refraction of ≤+/- 1.0 D incl cylinder (aaf) Normal healthy retina
