For chemistry and physics both subjects you need to understand the basic concepts if that is not clear then you will face a lots of problems try to read ncert books that are very much helpful in each and every line there is a deep meaning . After you can prefer any side books btw arihant publication books are pretty good for physics for chemistry ncert is sufficient
