The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NEET for admissions to MBBS,BDS,AYUSH,VETERINARY and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the only entrance test for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in India.
For qualifying NEET, students must have to score a minimum of 50 percentile for UR (ie;General Merit) and 40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category.
There are more than 450 government and private medical colleges in India. Unfortunately the ratio of the number of seats to the medical student aspirants in India is low. In case the student is unable to get the seat in India there is an other option for the students to study MBBS from foreign medical colleges. But they are quite expensive.
Government college: INR 11,000 to INR 7.5 lakh (Complete course).
Private college : INR 20 lakh to INR 80 lakh(complete course)
MBBS in abroad: INR 15 to INR 60 lakh per year.
Well with the increase in competition year by year, I believe that you should at least stay close around 450+ or better if it is 500 marks and above to get into a good private medical college.
Hope you have got your answer.
THANK YOU.
