Regarding changing of honours subject, it entirely depends upon the course and the institution you are studying in. Many candidates change the honours subject itself in the first year college, however the authorities are required to give permission to the concerned candidate.

You need to take this matter to the concerned authorities for the change of the subject. It also depends upon the vacancy in that particular course.

If you have selected the wrong course or you feel you are not comfortable, dont worry you can change it. Some colleges do allow it within the first week of admission provided seats are available for you in the course you wish to go. Or else you will have to cancel your admission and change your college that's another option available but only if you have a seat available for you in the new college.  The last resort is dropping out for 1 year but I dont recommend it. But this option is available if you are really struggling alot. That's why I said it's the last resort. So go on and ask your college authorities if they have a seat as early as possible.
