You can do hostel management course after clearing your 12th standard from recognized boards and it doesn't matter from which stream you belong any stream students either science /commerce / arts can pursue hotel management course after 12th.
You should score minimum of 40% - 45% in your 12th and then you can apply for hotel management course.

A 10+2 qualification with any set of subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is the minimum criterion of eligibility required to be fulfilled for an aspiring candidate to pursue Bachelor of Hospitality Management [BHM].
Institutions in India offer admission to this course on the basis of the candidate’s score in the qualifying exam. Some institutes offer admission on the basis of the candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance exams.
The selection process in Bachelor of Hospitality Management [BHM] may vary according to the norms and rules set by the institution or the university to which the college is affiliated.Selection for government recognized colleges and institutes is done through the common entrance test held in April every year. The test consists of multiple choice questions in English, Reasoning, General Science and General knowledge.
Certificate courses can be of six months to one year duration, a diploma of two years and a degree course of three year duration.
A group discussion and personal interview is conducted further to assess the personality and aptitude of the candidate before he is finally selected for the hotel management course. Private institutes too conduct tests along the same lines for selecting candidates.
