Hello Mohan,

For doing M.Tech in IITs you need to qualify the gate entrance exam . If you have completed your B.E or B.Tech degree from private college or government you are eligible for gate exam.

Qualify gate with good score and ranking and then you can persue your M.Tech from IITs.

Hope you got your answer.

Dear Mohan, yes ofcourse you can do M.Tech in IITs even you have graduated from Private college. What matters here is your GATE Score in the specialised subject. If your GATE score is very good then you can take admission in IITs.

So, just focus on preparation for GATE.

There is also some eligibility criteria for IITs. -

  • You have to score atleast 60% or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale with B.Tech in the relevant branch.
  • IITs won't even entertain your application if your GATE score is below the cut off set by the organizing Institute.
So, all the very best.

Feel free to ask for any query :)

Hey Mohan, yes you can do M.Tech in IITs after doing Engineering in private colleges. But you need to score very good score that is good cgpa in college and even more than cgpa you need to be a very good coder along with that you will have to do best in algorithms and all.

If you want seat in IITs then you need to have good skills than good marks and moreover you will need to clear the exam for MTech that will be really helpful.

Hello student,

Admission for master courses can be done by applying in GATE exam. The scores obtained are used for generating merit list and selection of students.

Hence, be it from private colleges or government colleges you can definitely appear in GATE and get a seat in top IITs in India. Only the students of IITs can get a seat in IITs via merit list, others need to appear for GATE.

All the best!
