In most of the colleges, b.tech first year is common and includes subjects like physics, chemistry,maths, geology, basic C etc.

So, it's not tough to get 9+ GPA in first year if you work hard for it. Moreover it depends on your institute also ...like the difficulty level, checking strictness etc.

Why not? It is possible. Now Worries at all. In the first year of Btech you won't have any Core Subjects . You will deal with the subjecs which you have learnt in the intermediate. Subjects are Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. You will also have C Programing, Engineering Drawing and one core subject from your Relevant domain. Concentrate on learning as much as possible rather than points. You will definitely get good grade.

It depends on really many factors. It depends on the factors like  the examination toughness of your college,. Etc. But my suggestion is that you should take the relative performance of you with marks. Sometimes all may be at 8 but you may be at 8.5 which is great. But sometimes all may be at 9.5 but you may at 9.0 which may be not great. I hope you got your answer.
