can we give ies during our mtech. does ies contain syllabus of mtech or only btech??

Yes, a candidate can appear for Indian Engineering Service Entrance Exam if she/he is pursuing M.Tech. The minimum education qualification is B.Tech or its equivalent from any Central or State University or any other Educational Institutions established by either an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities or UGC provided that they must meet the age requirement. The upper age limit is 30 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories is given age relaxation on upper age limit which is as follows
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- Defence Services personnel, (disabled in operations during hostilities ): 3 years
- ECOs/ SSCOs: 5 years
- Exservicemen: 5 years
- Deafmute and orthopaedic handicapped persons: 10 years

The eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service is passed bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university, the exam is conducted for branches such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and electronics and telecommunications, those in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply, there are mainly three stages such as prelims which has two papers one is general studies and engineering aptitude and another one is domain specific in MCQs format,there is negative marking scheme,second stage is mains which also has two papers related to specific domain,,each paper is of 300 marks for three hours duration,the last stage is personality test. Since the eligibility criteria is based on degree in engineering, then preparing for graduation level studies is enough for this exam.
