You have not mentioned which Entrance exam you are asking about. Due to Covid some entrance exams are giving a second chance to the candidates who have registered but couldn't appear for the examination like in the case of JEE-Advanced. JEE-Advanced is an entrance exam for admissions to IITS, the registered candidates who couldn’t appear for the exam need not re-qualify by writing JEE-Main 2021 and will be allowed to directly appear in the JEE-Advanced examination.
