can we simultaneously attend dnb and md/ ms counseling? what happens if you get seat in both. how to forfeit one? what's the penalty if any?

Hello,
All India counselling occurs in march-april whereas dnb counselling occurs in may.
Yes you can appear for both.
However, in all India counselling before counselling starts you must pay a fee of 25,000 rs and if you forfeit anytime after the first round of counselling you will not get your fee back. You will also not get your fee back if you are not allotted a seat.
In the case of dnb you have to pay only 2000rs for counselling and if you get a seat in the first round you have to pay 80,000rs. After this whatever seat you are allotted, if you do not accept your 80,000 rs is forfeited and in case you do not pay 80,000 when a seat is allotted to you in first round of counselling you cannot continue the counselling
So that is the monetary aspect.
So, you can apply for both but all India counselling first round is generally over before the counselling for dnb seats start, so it is better to decide beforehand what your priority is.
