Gate is always considered to be a best choice to grab an mtech admission in all NIT's or IIT's but unfortunately many fail to grab an opportunity due to various reasons.
Affourse you can't get in to IIT or NIT without gate but you can get in to:

• BITS pilani/Goa/Hyderabad campuses by writing BITS HD

• Many IIIT's such as IIIT Hyderabad,IIIT Delhi..... conduct there own entrance exams do have a look at every IIIT website or careers360 IIIT PG Admission sites.
