BSMS stands for Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery. It is one of the ancient courses of Ayush medicine. It is an undergraduate programme. To study BSMS, you should write NEET. BSMS course is governed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine. The minimum eligibility to study BSMS is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your main subjects. You should get 50% in these 3 subjects if you belong to General Category, 45% for Disability Category and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. BSMS course is run on the philosophy which is psychological and physiological functions if human body are controlled by 7 elements called Plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, nerve and semen. These 7 elements are activated by Air, fire or heat or energy or water. The Siddha philosophy states that an imbalance in any of these results in disruption if a healthy life. BSMS course in India is 5.5 years with 1 year compulsory internship.
