CLAT Syllabus is devided into five sections five sections– English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. You can check the complete syllabus with the given below link.

The syllabus for CLAT 2018 for UG course admissions as mentioned on the official website for the exam is as follows:



Section 1: English including comprehension



In this section, the proficiency in English will be tested on the basis of questions related to comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their understanding of the passage, the central theme, meanings of words used in the passage etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.



Section 2: General Knowledge and Currents Affairs



In this section, candidates will evaluated on the basis of their general awareness including static general knowledge. Similar current affairs questions will test a candidates knowledge of current affairs. Candidates need to be up-to-date with news and other topics discussed in mainstream media from March 2016 to April 2018.



Section 3: Mathematics



In this section, candidates knowledge on elementary Mathematics, that is, Maths taught up to Class X will be tested.



Section 4: Legal Aptitude



In this section, a candidates aptitude or interest in law, research aptitude as well as problem solving abilities will be tested.



The official website states: Questions in this section will be framed with the help of legal propositions and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be true in the real sense (e.g. the legal proposition may be that any person who speaks in a movie hall and disturbs others that are watching the movie will be banned from entering any movie theater across India for one year). Candidates will have to assume the truth of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.



Section 5: Logical Reasoning



In this section, a candidates ability to identify patterns, logical links as well as rectify illogical arguments will be evaluated. This section of CLAT 2018 will include logical reasoning questions along the lines of syllogisms, analogies, logical sequences, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested.
